I find the Nicomachean Ethics so powerful. They form an important element of my leadership classes.

One of the tasks I undertake during those classes is to help my students understand that the behaviours that inform effective leadership are the product of effort. They are the product of practise of doing small, initially insignificant-seeming things that are the little seeds of the greater thing that we seek to become.

I could say that a hundred different ways, but then Aristotle comes along in the Ethics and says simply "One becomes a lyre by playing the lyre." Nothing more to be said.
